Limitless Health 2 Day Juice Cleanse
This is for anyone interested in spring cleaning their digestive system in preparation for summer by breaking some old nutrition and lifestyle habits. The Limitless Health is now offering a free 2 day juice cleanse program to all existing clients as a gentle introduction to the area of juicing, detoxing and fasting. Unlike any other juice cleanse programs, our 2 day juice cleanse offers a pre and post fast program, juicing recipe ideas and lifestyle recommendations that will greatly reduce detox symptoms.
There are 2 juice cleanse options available to choose from. The full juice cleanse is for those ready to take the challenge with a modified version of one salad serving per day for those after a more passive experience or for medication requirements.
This program is not suitable for anyone with diabetes, low blood sugar or kidney disease. If you are taking any medication it is essential that you continue administration throughout the cleanse.

PRE-CLEANSE PROGRAM
Four days out from your scheduled juice cleanse begin to prepare your body by eliminating the intake of caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, dairy products, sugar, meat, chicken, fish, grains/wheat and any foods that contain chemical additives, preservatives and colours. Ease off these items slowly aiming for complete abstinence 48 hours before the juice cleanse commences.
In the lead up 24-48 hours before the scheduled juice cleanse ensure you are eating raw foods such as fruits and vegetables only. Incorporate water, lemon in water, fresh juices and herbal teas (caffeine free) into your day.
2-DAY JUICE FAST
It is advisable to drink fresh fruit based juices throughout the day and changing to more vegetable based juices in the afternoons and evenings. It is essential to ensure you maintain a high calorie intake above 1,200 calories. Each juice will contain between 100-200 calories so it is vital to consume 6-12 juices per day.
Additional beverages that you can enjoy between juices are caffeine free herbal teas, wheatgrass juice shots and strained homemade vegetable broths.
Be creative and substitute ingredients to your taste. Some common substitutions are spinach for kale, red apples for green apples, zucchini for cucumber. Flavour with herbs and spices such as cayenne, basil, cinnamon, mint etc.
It is essential to strain all juices as any pulp in the drink will begin to trigger the digestive system into action and will result in hunger. Remember to drink up to 1.5 litres of water additionally to the fresh juice.
Be gentle with yourself and used the 2 days to have a massage, do some gentle exercise such as yoga and other stress reducing modalities such as tai chi.
POST-CLEANSE PROGRAM
On day 1 post cleanse slowly introduce small quantities of easily digested foods such as:
FRUIT: watermelon, papaya, orange, apple, peach, pineapple, rockmelon, mango, grapes
SPROUT: alfalfa, clover, sunflower, chia
SMOOTHIES: blueberries, banana, apple, chia, psyllium, spirulinaa, chlorella, maca
SOUP: miso, vegetable broth
VEGETABLES: tomato, cucumber, organic almond or rice milk
To help stimulate the correct digestive enzymes have lemon in water or apple cider vinegar in water 10 minutes before a eating.
On day 2 post cleanse introduce additional foods such as:
FRUIT: watermelon, papaya, orange, apple, peach, pineapple, rockmelon, mango, grapes, berries, dried fruit, avocado, olives
SPROUT: alfalfa, clover, sunflower, chia
SMOOTHIES: blueberries, banana, apple, chia, psyllium, spirulinaa, chlorella, maca
SOUP: miso, vegetable broth
VEGETABLES: tomato, cucumber, organic almond or rice milk, kelp, spinach, lettuce, vegetable soup
NUTS & SEEDS: almonds, cashews
On day 3 and 4 post cleanse begin to add other foods such as steamed vegetables, grains and legumes. Avoid heavy and greasy foods with a focus still on a vegetarian style diet. Continue to eat small portions.
Introduce animal products and dairy on day 5 post cleanse or after depending on how your digestive system is responding.
Ensure that you are drinking 1.5 litres of filtered water daily. For longer lasting results abstain from introducing stimulants such as sugar, caffeine, nicotine and additives.
As you are re-introducing foods back into the diet keep a track of any foods that may give you symptoms.
It is advisable to supplement with probiotics beginning in the pre-cleanse phase and beyond.
It is essential that you continue to administer all pharmaceutical medications during this cleanse.
